Job summary

Ministry of Law, Singapore, invites applicants for a mediation support role within the Community Mediation Centre (CMC). You will administer applications and referrals for mediation, process them end-to-end, and coordinate resources and modes of mediation for the parties involved.

Successful candidates will join a collaborative team, work with volunteers and government partners, and contribute to reporting and presentation materials. A 1-year contract is offered in the first instance.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English, Mandarin and/or dialect.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to manage people with various expectations.
• Good writing ability and proficiency with current IT tools including Zoom.
• Ability to work independently and in a team, detail-oriented, calm during peak periods.
• Experience in customer service, frontline operations and mediation related work.

Responsibilities

• Administers and manages all applications and referrals for mediation received by the CMC within approved public service standards and timeline.
• Processes all applications and referrals end-to-end in accordance with SOPs and standing instructions.
• Selects suitable mode of mediation and sets it up according to the needs of the parties and ensures resources are available.
• Works with stakeholders including CMC’s volunteer mediators and partners from other government agencies.
• Manages the various demands and expectations of parties, including those ordered to attend mediation by law.
• Able to perform basic data generation tasks required for reports or presentations.
• Able to create presentation materials required for meetings or briefings.
• Assists in the management of CMC's events including the annual mediator appreciation event(s) and other public outreach programmes.
