Job summary

Nippon Sanso Singapore Ltd seeks an experienced Manager/Senior Manager to lead end-to-end logistics, warehouse operations, and hazardous materials handling with a focus on safety, compliance, and efficiency.

You will oversee DG/HazMat storage, shipping, and documentation, implement SOPs, manage budgets, and drive continuous improvement across the supply chain in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in logistics, supply chain, EHS or related field.
• 8–12 years’ experience in logistics, warehouse or hazmat operations with leadership.
• Strong hands-on experience with DG/HazMat handling and compliance.
• Experience storing, handling, transporting and disposing hazardous materials.
• Solid knowledge of DG/HazMat regulations (IATA DGR, IMDG, ADR) and local rules.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Manager / Senior Manager – Logistics, Warehouse & Hazardous Materials to lead our end‑to‑end logistics and warehouse operations, with overall responsibility for the safe and compliant handling, storage, transportation, and distribution of Dangerous Goods (DG) and Hazardous Materials (HazMat).

The successful candidate will provide strategic and operational leadership across logistics, warehouse management, transportation, inventory control, DG/HazMat compliance, safety, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage overall logistics, warehouse, transportation, and distribution operations.


• Oversee the safe receiving, storage, handling, picking, packing, and dispatch of Dangerous Goods and Hazardous Materials.


• Ensure compliance with applicable DG/HazMat legislation, transportation regulations, environmental requirements, and workplace safety standards.


• Ensure hazardous materials are appropriately classified, segregated, stored, packaged, labelled, documented, and transported.


• Establish and maintain robust SOPs, work instructions, risk assessments, emergency response procedures, and operational controls.


• Manage warehouse operations, including inventory accuracy, stock control, space utilization, warehouse productivity, housekeeping, and safety.


• Monitor and control inventory/storage levels to ensure that the quantity of materials stored at all facilities remains within the limits permitted under applicable regulatory licenses and approvals.


• Ensure appropriate hazardous material storage and segregation according to product compatibility and regulatory requirements.


• Review and maintain relevant Safety Data Sheets (SDS), DG declarations, shipping documents, permits, labels, and other compliance documentation.


• Manage inbound and outbound shipments, including coordination with freight forwarders, shipping lines, airlines, transport providers, and logistics partners.


• Ensure logistics partners and contractors meet required DG/HazMat, safety, and compliance standards.


• Monitor logistics and warehouse KPIs, including delivery performance, inventory accuracy, warehouse productivity, incident rates, and operating costs.


• Lead investigations into hazardous material incidents, spills, leaks, damages, losses, shipment discrepancies, and other operational issues.


• Ensure appropriate emergency preparedness and response plans are established and regularly tested.


• Lead internal and external audits relating to logistics, warehouse, Dangerous Goods, hazardous materials, safety, and regulatory compliance.


• Manage logistics and warehouse budgets and identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational efficiency.


• Lead, coach, and develop logistics and warehouse teams, including training on DG/HazMat handling, warehouse safety, emergency procedures, and regulatory requirements.


• Work closely with EHS/HSE, Quality, Procurement, Sales, Finance, Customer Service, and Operations teams.


• Keep updated on changes to applicable Dangerous Goods, hazardous materials, transportation, environmental, and workplace safety regulations.


• Provide regular management reports on logistics performance, warehouse operations, inventory, compliance, incidents, costs, and improvement initiatives.


• Lead and coordinate the annual budgeting process, including budget planning, cost forecasting, resource allocation, and monitoring budget performance to ensure alignment with business objectives.

Requirements

• Degree/Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Warehouse Management, Environmental Health & Safety, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.


• 8–12 years of relevant experience in logistics, warehouse, supply chain, or hazardous materials operations, with proven managerial experience.


• Strong practical experience managing Dangerous Goods and Hazardous Materials.


• Experience in the storage, handling, transportation, and disposal of hazardous materials.


• Strong knowledge of applicable DG/HazMat regulations and standards, such as IATA DGR, IMDG Code, ADR, and relevant local regulatory requirements, depending on the business scope.


• Relevant Dangerous Goods / HazMat certification or training will be highly advantageous.


• Strong warehouse management and inventory control experience.


• Experience managing logistics service providers, freight forwarders, transport companies, and warehouse contractors.


• Good understanding of SDS, hazard classification, labelling, packaging, segregation, and emergency response requirements.


• Strong knowledge of workplace safety, risk assessment, incident investigation, and compliance management.
