Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Review, enhance, and develop enforcement and policy frameworks aligned with policy intent while raising employment standards.
  • Analyze diverse employment cases (e.g., sick leave, overtime pay, notice period) for fair resolutions reflecting legislation intent.
  • Support tripartite platforms and committees with NTUC and SNEF to develop policies and review positions.
  • Collaborate with TAFEP and TADM to build progressive workplaces and amicable dispute resolution.
  • Draft public communications including parliamentary replies and media queries, shaping the narrative on employment law and policy.

What the role is:

What you will be working on:

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Review, enhance, and develop operational policies and frameworks related to enforcement and dispute management, ensuring seamless implementation in line with policy intent while raising employment standards.
  • Analyze and assess diverse employment cases (e.g., sick leave, overtime pay, notice period), applying a deep understanding of law and policy to ensure fair resolutions that reflect the true intent of the legislation.
  • Support key tripartite platforms and committees by collaborating with the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) and the Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF) to develop new policies and review tripartite positions.
  • Partner Tripartite Alliance for Fair and Progressive Employment Practices (TAFEP) to build progressive workplaces and Tripartite Alliance for Dispute Management (TADM) to resolve employment disputes amicably.
  • Draft impactful public communications, including replies to parliamentary questions, media queries, and concerns from the public, while helping to shape the narrative on employment law and policy.
