Job description

What the role is:

Ever wondered what Singapore's job market is really telling us? At the Manpower Research & Statistics Department's Analysis team, we dig deep into the data to find out. We track trends, design models, uncover patterns, and turn numbers into stories and meaningful insights. These form the cornerstone of evidence-based policymaking, and shape how the public understand the world of work. If you're someone who gets excited about a good dataset, enjoys the rigour of statistical modelling, have a keen curiosity of the dynamics of the labour market and loves making complex ideas click for others, this is the right fit for you.

What you will be working on:
  • Tell stories with data — Write reports and articles that bring labour market trends to life, making them meaningful for audiences ranging from policymakers to the general public.
  • Spot what's next — Design and lead studies or surveys to track emerging trends, identify gaps, and think through what they mean for Singapore's workforce.
  • Conduct research and build predictive capabilities — Lead research studies which apply statistical, econometric, and predictive models to deepen understanding of labour market dynamics, anticipate emerging shifts, and support evidence-based policymaking.
  • Be the expert in the room — Advise on data sources, statistical methods, and modelling approaches, and help others make sense of the numbers.
  • Keep your finger on the pulse — Stay on top of the latest labour market developments and propose creative ways to present what you find.
What we are looking for:
  • We are looking for individuals who are intellectually curious, driven by purpose, and excited by the prospect of using data to make sense of the world around them.
  • Candidates from any academic discipline are welcome, though some exposure to quantitative methods, statistics, or data analysis will be an advantage.
  • At least 2 years of experience in research, analysis, or a data-related role, though strong fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Working knowledge of statistical programming language (like SAS, R, Python or STATA), data visualisation tools (like Tableau or PowerBI) and econometric modelling will be an advantage.
  • If you want your work to genuinely move the needle on how Singapore understands its workforce, we'd love to hear from you.
