Job summary

sggovterp is seeking a Deputy/Assistant Manager in Bus Service Development to join the regulatory team in Singapore. You will evaluate applications for Bus Service Licences and for bus stop usage, monitor operations, and recommend actions for non-compliance with licensing conditions.

You will help review and develop rules, guidelines, and policies to keep the regulatory framework effective, while collaborating with agencies, operators, and community stakeholders on transport-related matters.

Qualifications

• Preferably at least 2 years of relevant working experience.
• Organised and able to work with minimal supervision, to manage tasks and projects according to schedule.
• Positive attitude with good interpersonal skills, able to work with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess regulatory, licensing and operational issues.
• Excellent English; prepare and deliver clear written, verbal and visual proposals to senior management.
• Resourceful, self-motivated and capable of thriving in an agile, fast-paced environment.
• A good team player who can collaborate across teams and agencies.
• Candidates without relevant experience but with strong potential will be considered.

What the role is

[LTA-PT] DEPUTY/ASSISTANT MANAGER, BUS SERVICE DEVELOPMENT

What you will be working on

You will be part of the team responsible for the licensing and regulation of bus services. You will evaluate applications relating to Bus Service Licences, as well as applications for the use of bus stops. You will also monitor bus service operations and recommend appropriate follow-up actions for non-compliance with licensing conditions.

Beyond licensing work, you will be involved in reviewing and developing rules, regulations, guidelines and policies to ensure that the regulatory framework for bus services remains effective and relevant. You will also review operational guidelines and procedures to streamline work processes and improve operational effectiveness.

The role involves working closely with other government agencies, public and private bus operators, private organisations and community stakeholders on bus and transport-related matters, including issues relating to the transport of migrant workers. You will also attend to public feedback on bus service and regulatory matters.

Through these responsibilities, you will contribute to the development of a robust and responsive bus regulatory framework and support efforts to improve bus services and make public transport a choice mode.
