PHAIDON INTERNATIONAL (SINGAPORE) PTE. LTD. invites a seasoned Light Ends Operator to support regional trading activities. The role offers exposure to physical trading operations, commercial decision-making, and close collaboration with trading, logistics, finance, and risk teams.

You will manage the full lifecycle of physical cargo operations, oversee documentation, and coordinate vessel movements across multiple countries and time zones, while optimizing performance and controlling costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
• 5–10 years of experience in physical petroleum cargo operations.
• Experience handling LPG, Naphtha or other petroleum products.
• Strong understanding of international trade operations, shipping logistics and commodity supply chains.
• Experience with Letters of Credit, Bills of Lading, shipping documents and voyage orders.

Responsibilities

• Manage full lifecycle of physical cargo operations from trade execution to discharge.
• Coordinate FOB, CFR and DAP transactions for timely execution.
• Handle vessel nominations, vetting, stowage planning and voyage instructions.
• Manage trade finance documents including LC, shipping docs and payments.
• Collaborate with traders to monitor progress, identify risks, and resolve issues.

About the Opportunity

Our client is a leading international energy and commodities organization seeking an experienced Light Ends Operator to support regional trading activities. This role offers exposure to physical trading operations, commercial decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration across trading, logistics, supply chain, finance, and risk teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of physical cargo operations from trade execution through to final cargo discharge.
• Coordinate and oversee FOB, CFR, and DAP transactions, ensuring efficient and timely execution.
• Handle vessel nominations, vetting requirements, stowage planning, voyage instructions, inspector appointments, and cargo operations.
• Manage trade finance documentation, including Letters of Credit, shipping documents, and payment-related activities.
• Work closely with traders to monitor operational progress, identify risks, and proactively resolve issues throughout the transaction lifecycle.
• Maintain accurate trade records, cargo data, operational documentation, accruals, and system updates.
• Review commercial contracts and ensure operational compliance with contractual obligations.
• Manage demurrage calculations, claims handling, dispute resolution, and settlement processes.
• Liaise with suppliers, shipowners, brokers, inspectors, receivers, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of cargo movements.
• Identify opportunities to optimize operational performance, reduce costs, and improve overall efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 5-10 years of experience in physical petroleum cargo operations within the oil, energy, petrochemicals, or commodities trading sectors.
• Proven experience handling physical cargoes such as LPG, Naphtha, or other petroleum products.
• Strong understanding of international trade operations, shipping logistics, vessel operations, and commodity supply chains.
• Hands-on experience managing Letters of Credit, Bills of Lading, shipping documentation, documentary instructions, and voyage orders.
• Experience handling demurrage claims, contract execution, and dispute management.Good knowledge of maritime operations, commercial trading terms, and shipping processes.
• Experience using ERP systems such as SAP and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage effectively with both internal and external counterparties.
• Commercially minded, proactive, and capable of operating independent in a fast-paced trading environment.
• Ability to work effectively with stakeholders across multiple countries and time zones.
