You will coordinate shipping logistics, monitor vessel nominations, loading/discharge schedules, and oversee LC operations and trade documents, collaborating with Trading, Finance and Risk.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Supply Chain, Business, or related field.
• 8–10 years of experience in dry bulk trade operations and physical commodity execution.
• Deep understanding of FOB, CFR, CIF, laytime, and demurrage/despatch exposure.
• Experience with LC operations and preparing shipping documents.
• Experience reviewing SPAs and CPs.

JOB DESCRIPTION

A fast-growing multinational commodities and chemical distributor with a strong global footprint is currently looking for a Senior Dry Bulk Operations Specialist to join their team.

The Senior Dry Bulk Operations Specialist will be responsible for executing physical commodity trades from contract to final settlement. This role involves reviewing commercial contracts (SPAs, CPs) and managing key terms such as laycan and delivery basis (FOB/CFR/CIF). You will coordinate shipment logistics, track vessel nominations, loading/discharge schedules, and closely monitor laytime and demurrage/despatch exposure to proactively mitigate operational risks.

Additionally, you will manage end-to-end Letter of Credit (LC) operations, drafting and negotiating terms with banks and counterparties to minimize discrepancies. You will oversee the preparation of trade documents (e.g., Bills of Lading, Certificates of Origin) and act as the key interface between Trading, Finance, and Risk teams to support trade P&L reconciliation and ensure smooth cargo execution.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field
• Minimum 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in dry bulk trade operations and physical commodity execution
• Deep understanding of shipping terms (FOB, CFR, CIF), laytime calculations, and demurrage/despatch exposure
• Hands-on experience managing Letter of Credit (LC) operations and preparing shipping documents
• Proven ability to review and operationalize Sales and Purchase Agreements (SPAs) and Charter Parties (CPs)
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to work closely with traders, banks, and surveyors in a fast-paced environment
