Job summary

Touch Community Services is seeking a Learning Practitioner for the TOUCH Young Arrows programme on a 2 to 3 years contract. You will deliver child-centred learning experiences, coach volunteers, and implement Individualised Learning Plans to raise educational outcomes.

You'll provide real-time feedback, troubleshoot activities, and ensure fidelity to programme protocols while fostering a joyful, inclusive learning environment in Toa Payoh and other Singapore locations.

Qualifications

  • Degree in education or related field.
  • 3–5 years of teaching and learning support experience with primary school children.
  • Knowledge of instructional design and learning frameworks is a plus.
  • Experience with EdTech and digital learning tools is desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with diverse stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instructional support to children and tailor strategies to learning challenges.
  • Coach volunteers before, during, and after sessions with real-time feedback.
  • Help develop and apply Individualised Learning Plans (ILPs).
  • Monitor programme fidelity and ensure consistent delivery across sessions.

Learning Practitioner (TOUCH Young Arrows) - 2 to 3 Years Contract

Job Summary:

The Learning Practitioner will ensure high-impact, child-centred learning experiences and drive the academic coaching programme component in improving educational outcomes and long-term social mobility. You will translate programme design into practice by providing on-site guidance, coaching, and hands-on support to volunteer mentors, promoting quality, consistency and innovation in delivery.

Key responsibilities include implementing targeted learning strategies, offering real-time coaching to volunteers, and supporting the development and effective use of Individualised Learning Plans (ILPs) tailored to each child. You will troubleshoot classroom challenges, give constructive feedback, and ensure fidelity to programme protocols—fostering a joyful, personalised learning environment, increasing volunteer competence and confidence, and strengthening programme sustainability.

1.Instructional Support for Children

  • Developing targeted strategies to support children in overcoming specific learning challenges and social-emotional/ behavioural challenges.
  • Providing tailored instructional guidance to support children's progress and learning outcomes.

2. Support and Coaching for Volunteers

  • Conducting pre-briefing sessions with volunteers before each session to review plans, discuss challenges, and set expectations.
  • Providing just-in-time coaching and clarification to volunteers during sessions.
  • Conducting debriefing sessions with volunteers after each session to review progress, discuss challenges, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Offering feedback and support to help volunteers carry out their roles effectively.
  • Ensuring volunteers are equipped to implement programme components, such as screening-informed coaching and learning norms.

3. Programme Implementation and Quality Assurance

  • Monitoring programme fidelity, including adherence to Individualized Learning Plans (ILPs) and session structure.
  • Ensuring consistency in programme delivery across sessions.
  • Troubleshooting challenges that arise during implementation (e.g. EdTech setup, child engagement)

4. Others

  • Support general administration and coordination, pertaining to data reporting, training, etc
Working Conditions:
  • 5 day work week:Tue to Sat, 9am to 6pm
  • Location - Toa Payoh / Various location around Singapore
Requirements:
  • Preferrably a degree in education or related field, with experience in teaching and learning support for primary school age children.
  • At least 3 - 5 years of related work experience in education, with experience in supporting children with additional learning needs.
  • Knowledge of instructional design, child development theories, and learning frameworks is a plusExperience with EdTech and digital learning tools (optional but desirable).
  • Comfortable working with children and volunteersStrong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
