Job summary

Seagate Technology’s Equipment Development Engineering group in Singapore seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead full lifecycle development of automated manufacturing equipment. You will drive concept to production, define interfaces, and coordinate cross‑functional teams across mechanical, electrical, software, and process disciplines.

Qualifications

• Strong design analysis, validation planning, and risk management experience.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specs and technical docs.
• Excellent cross-functional communication and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead full lifecycle mechanical development from concept to production handoff.
• Define system requirements, interfaces, margins and risk controls.
• Develop layouts, precision mechanisms, structures, motion systems and guarding.
• Perform analyses, experiments and verification activities.
• Lead design reviews, risk assessments and trade studies.
• Coordinate mechanical work with electrical, controls, software, and manufacturing teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote disciplined engineering practices.
