Job summary

Seagate Technology's Equipment Development Engineering group is expanding and seeks a senior mechanical engineer to lead full lifecycle development of precision automation equipment in Singapore.

You will define system requirements, develop layouts and motion systems, conduct design reviews, drive reliability improvements, and mentor junior engineers while coordinating across mechanical, electrical, controls, software and manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading machine-level or complex system development.
• Strong design analysis and validation planning skills.
• Ability to lead cross-functional technical discussions.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead full lifecycle mechanical development from concept to production handoff.
• Define system requirements, acceptance criteria, interfaces, margins and risk controls.
• Develop machine layouts, precision mechanisms, structures, motion systems and guarding.
• Perform design reviews, risk assessments, and trade studies.
• Coordinate mechanical activities with electrical, controls, software, process, and manufacturing teams.
