Job summary

Seagate Technology seeks a Mechanical Engineer for the SpEDE group in Singapore to design and test sputter process equipment. You will document mechanical systems, collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and process engineering, and help transition concepts into production.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering with 3-5 years' experience, proficiency in SolidWorks, and familiarity with DFM/DFA, ECO/ECN, and high-vacuum design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required.
• 3-5 years of Mechanical Engineering experience preferred.
• Experience with design processes from feasibility to production realization.
• Knowledge of ECOs/ECNs and release of manufacturing-quality docs.
• Experience in designing dynamic electromechanical systems.
• Familiarity with high-vacuum design and heat-transfer applications is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and document mechanical designs for transport mechanisms and vacuum systems.
• Lead design ownership for devices and systems; produce produc­tion-ready drawings.
• Generate initial concepts and contribute to detailed product design.
• Participate in design reviews; ensure manufacturability and reliability.
• Create, review, and release 3D models and engineering drawings.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to secure parts and assemblies.
