Job summary

nSearch Technologies is seeking a Head of Engineering – AI Platform to own the architecture and steer the next stage of Vetta’s development. This hands-on leadership role reports to the Director of Digital Transformation and requires driving scalability, security and enterprise readiness.

You will lead the engineering roadmap, collaborate with product and commercial teams, and mentor the growing internal team to deliver robust AI-powered SaaS capabilities within a trusted enterprise platform.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience leading engineering teams or owning major technical architecture decisions.
• Strong hands-on experience building and operating production SaaS platforms.
• Strong backend engineering experience, preferably with Python and modern API frameworks.
• Practical experience building AI/LLM applications using agents, tool calling, RAG, structured outputs and evaluation frameworks.
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture, APIs, databases and distributed systems.
• Experience with authentication, RBAC, audit logging and enterprise security.
• Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring and production operations.
• Strong product judgement and ability to make pragmatic build-vs-buy decisions.
• Strong communication skills with both technical teams and enterprise stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own Vetta’s end-to-end technical architecture and engineering roadmap.
• Lead development of scalable, enterprise-grade AI and SaaS capabilities.
• Design and implement agentic AI workflows using LLMs, tool calling, structured outputs and human-in-the-loop patterns.
• Develop a model-agnostic architecture capable of supporting multiple AI providers.
• Strengthen platform reliability, performance, security, observability and scalability.
• Lead backend services, APIs, data pipelines and enterprise integrations.
• Establish strong engineering practices across CI/CD, testing, code review and monitoring.
• Build evaluation frameworks for AI and agent performance.
• Own enterprise architecture requirements including RBAC, auditability, tenant isolation and data protection.
• Guide future ATS, HRIS and enterprise system integrations.
• Work closely with product and commercial leadership to translate customer requirements into scalable product capabilities.
• Build and lead the internal engineering team as the platform grows.
• Support enterprise technical discussions, evaluations and deployments.
