Job summary

nSearch Global in Singapore is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer to own the end-to-end technical architecture for Vetta, our AI-powered recruitment platform. You will lead a growing engineering team, driving scalable, enterprise-grade solutions and collaborating with product and commercial leadership to translate customer needs into robust capabilities.

This role requires hands-on backend work, security, and CI/CD excellence as the platform evolves to support enterprise customers.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with meaningful leadership or architecture ownership.
• Hands-on production SaaS experience and backend focus (Python) with modern APIs.
• Experience building AI/LLM apps using tool calling, agents, RAG and evaluation frameworks.
• Strong cloud and distributed systems knowledge, enterprise integrations and security.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end technical architecture and engineering roadmap for Vetta.
• Lead the transition towards a scalable, enterprise-grade AI platform.
• Design and implement agentic AI workflows using LLMs, tool calling and human-in-the-loop patterns.
• Build model-agnostic architecture across providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, IBM).
• Strengthen reliability, security, performance, observability and scalability.
• Lead backend services, APIs, data pipelines and platform integrations.
• Establish CI/CD, testing, code review, monitoring and release management practices.
• Design evaluation frameworks for AI and agent performance.
• Own enterprise architecture requirements including RBAC, auditability and data protection.
• Guide integrations with ATS/HRIS and enterprise systems.
• Collaborate with product/commercial leadership to translate customer needs into scalable capabilities.
• Build and lead internal engineering team as the platform grows.
• Support enterprise customer discussions and deployments.
• Maintain technical documentation and architecture standards.

Our flagship platform, Vetta, is an AI-powered recruitment intelligence platform designed to help recruiters and hiring teams evaluate candidates, manage recruitment workflows, support interviews and make more structured, explainable hiring decisions.

Vetta combines AI-assisted candidate assessment with recruiter workflow automation, interview intelligence, analytics and enterprise governance capabilities.

Responsibilities:

• Own the end-to-end technical architecture and engineering roadmap for Vetta.
• Lead the transition towards a scalable, enterprise-grade AI platform.
• Design and implement agentic AI workflows using LLMs, tool calling, structured outputs and human-in-the-loop patterns.
• Build a model-agnostic AI architecture that can work across providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, IBM and other models where appropriate.
• Strengthen the platform across reliability, security, performance, observability and scalability.
• Lead development of backend services, APIs, data pipelines and platform integrations.
• Establish strong engineering practices across CI/CD, testing, code review, monitoring and release management.
• Design robust evaluation frameworks for AI and agent performance.
• Own enterprise architecture requirements including tenant isolation, RBAC, auditability, data protection and deployment controls.
• Guide future integrations with ATS, HRIS and enterprise systems.
• Work closely with product and commercial leadership to translate customer requirements into scalable product capabilities.
• Build and lead the internal engineering team as the platform grows.
• Support selected enterprise customer discussions, technical evaluations and deployments.
• Maintain clear technical documentation and architecture standards.

Requirements:

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, with meaningful experience leading engineering teams or owning major architecture decisions.
• Strong hands-on experience building and operating production SaaS platforms.
• Strong backend engineering experience, ideally with Python and modern API frameworks.
• Practical experience building AI/LLM applications using tool calling, agents, RAG, structured outputs and evaluation frameworks.
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture and distributed systems.
• Experience with relational databases, APIs, authentication and enterprise integrations.
• Strong understanding of production security, RBAC, audit logging and data isolation.
• Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring and production operations.
• Ability to make pragmatic build-vs-buy decisions.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with both technical teams and enterprise stakeholders.

Preferred:

• Experience in AI-native SaaS, HR technology, recruitment technology or enterprise workflow platforms.
• Experience integrating with ATS / HRIS platforms.
• Experience with multiple LLM providers or model-routing architectures.
• Experience building agentic systems in production.
• Experience with vector databases, embeddings and semantic search.
• Experience in regulated environments such as banking, government or healthcare.
• Previous experience as a Staff Engineer, Engineering Lead, Head of Engineering or similar technical leadership role.
• Experience building and scaling an engineering team from an early stage.
