Job summary

Singtel is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to provide technical leadership across new AI initiatives and enterprise-grade platforms. You will shape solution architecture, guide delivery standards, and manage vendor and offshore teams to ensure high-quality outcomes.

You will own end-to-end design for AI and automation projects, establish engineering standards, review designs, and mentor engineers across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• 6+ years of experience as software developer.
• 2-4 years AI/ML development; experience leading complex system design and architecture.
• Experience managing vendors or offshore teams.
• Experience designing and integrating AI/ML solutions into production systems.
• Ability to evaluate feasibility, risk, and operational impact of AI solutions.
• Significant experience in prompt engineering and prompt design for LLMs and GenAI applications.
• Expert-level proficiency in Python/Node.js/Go/Java.
• Strong system design, API architecture, and distributed systems expertise.
• Experience with AWS/GCP/Azure and container platforms; observability and security knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop MCP agents, tools and govern MCP to be used by business flows.
• Design and govern Retrieval-Augmented Generation architectures including data ingestion, indexing and retrieval pipelines.
• Provide technical direction for MCP tools and AI-enabled services delivered by internal, vendor, and offshore teams.
• Ensure AI solutions are production-ready, scalable, observable, and aligned with enterprise standards.
• Own end-to-end technical solution design and architecture decisions for AI and automation initiatives.
• Establish engineering standards, design principles, and best practices across AI platforms and backend systems.
• Review and approve detailed technical designs and deployment approaches produced by vendors or offshore teams.
• Evaluate emerging AI tools and technologies and propose adoption where value and readiness exist.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers; manage technical risks and trade-offs.
• Provide governance for vendors and offshore teams, ensuring security and quality compliance.
• Collaborate with product owners, enterprise architects, cybersecurity, data, and operations to align AI with business goals.
• Communicate decisions and risks to stakeholders; coordinate across time zones.
• Lead root-cause analysis and remediation for production issues affecting AI services.
