Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced L1/L2 Production Support Engineer with strong hands‑on experience in Unix/Linux environments and SQL. The candidate will be responsible for monitoring production applications, troubleshooting incidents, performing root‑cause analysis, and ensuring the stability and availability of business‑critical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide L1/L2 production support for business‑critical applications and systems.
- Monitor production environments, application health, jobs, interfaces, and system performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application, system, batch job, and database‑related issues.
- Perform Unix/Linux administration and troubleshooting, including checking processes, logs, services, disk space, CPU and memory utilization.
- Execute and troubleshoot Unix/Linux shell scripts and scheduled jobs.
- Strong hands‑on experience in SQL queries for data validation, troubleshooting, and issue investigation.
- Analyze application and system logs to identify errors and determine the root cause.
- Monitor and troubleshoot batch jobs, file transfers, interfaces, and scheduled processes.
- Handle incidents and service requests within defined SLA timelines.
- Perform initial impact analysis and elevate complex issues to L3/application/DBA teams when required.
- Coordinate with development, infrastructure, database, and business teams for issue resolution.
- Perform production deployments, application restarts, and routine operational activities as per approved procedures.
- Conduct root‑cause analysis (RCA) for recurring or critical production incidents.
- Maintain incident records, support documentation, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge base articles.
- Participate in shift support, on‑call rotation, and weekend/public holiday support when required.
- Follow ITIL‑based processes for Incident, Problem, Change, and Service Request Management.
Required Technical Skills
- Strong experience in Unix/Linux production support.
- Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Hands‑on experience with Shell Scripting.
- Good understanding of Linux commands such as grep, awk, sed, ps, top, df, du, find, tail, chmod, and kill.
- Experience in analyzing application, system, and database logs.
- Experience with batch scheduling and job monitoring.
- Understanding of application‑to‑database connectivity and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of file transfer protocols such as SFTP/FTP.
- Good understanding of TCP/IP, basic networking, and system connectivity troubleshooting.
- Experience with monitoring and ticketing tools is an advantage.
- Exposure to tools such as ServiceNow, Control‑M, Autosys, Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or similar is an advantage.
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting 24x7 production environments.
- Good understanding of ITIL processes and SLA management.
- Experience in incident, problem, and change management.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with multiple teams.
- Good communication skills and ability to interact with technical and business stakeholders.
Experience
- 3–6 years of experience in Production/Application Support.
- Strong hands‑on experience in Unix/Linux and SQL is mandatory.
- Candidates with experience in L1/L2 application production support and enterprise environments are preferred.
Requirements
- Applicant must be Diploma or Bachelors graduate from Computer Science / Information Technology / Software Engineering can apply
- Must have IT background and intermediate knowledge and hands on experiences with SQL and Linux
- Need to have eagerness to learn and perform with committment

- Need to support including night shift, weekends and public holidays
- Allowance will be included
- Transport is claimable - before 7am (for morning shift 6am to 3pm) , after 11pm (afternoon shift 2pm to 11pm)
- Shift Timing
- Morning shift 6am to 3pm
- General shift 9am to 6pm.
- Afternoon shift 2pm to 11pm
- Night shift 10pm to 7am.
