Job summary

Japan Foods Holding Ltd in Singapore is seeking a Kitchen Helper to join the kitchen operations team. You will assist with opening/closing duties, support cooking tasks, and help with food preparation and hygiene. The role requires a cooperative attitude and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Candidate should have at least primary education and hold a WSQ Food & Hygiene Certificate. Weekend and public holiday shifts are included; growth opportunities and staff meals are available.

Qualifications

• Minimum primary school level.
• WSQ Food & Hygiene Certificate is required.
• Good understanding of kitchen operations and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform opening and closing duties for the kitchen.
• Assist the cook in food preparation including frying, soup, and cutting vegetables and meat per SOP.
• Carry out deep frying, salad preparation, peeling egg shells and making gyoza as needed.
• Store food properly to prevent spoilage and prepare sauces, spices, and marinades as required.
• Follow safety SOP and wear safety equipment while working in the kitchen.
• Wash pots, pans and trays; return clean cookware to storage.
• Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area and waste management.
• Handle any other duties assigned by the Chef.

Kitchen Operations

• Perform opening and closing duties.

• Perform Deep frying task, prepare salad, peel egg shell, make gyoza etc.

Food Preparation and Quality

• Store food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage.
• Prepare sauces, spices, seasonings and marinades based on standard

Safety and Compliance

• Follow company safety SOP and wear safety equipment while working in the kitchen.

Cleaning and Dishwashing

• Wash pots, pans and trays.
• Place clean dishes, utensil or cooking equipment in storage area.

Kitchen Cleanliness and Waste Management

• Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area, equipment and utensil.
• Throw rubbish at designated area.
• Clean trash bin

Other Ad-hoc Duties

• Handle any other duties assigned by Chef.

Job Requirements

• Minimum primary school level
• With F&B experience is an asset but not essential
• Possess WSQ Food & Hygiene Certificate
• Good understanding of procedures related to kitchen operation
• Good and positive working attitude
• Able to work well in a team and individually
• Able to do split shift and work on weekends and public holidays
• Able to multi-task and adapt to fast paced environment
• Uphold excellent food hygiene and kitchen safety practices
