Job summary

Singapore Christian Home is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support meal services and food preparation. The role involves receiving deliveries, cooking staples like rice and porridge, and ensuring hygiene in the kitchen under supervision.

The position requires at least 1 year of cooking experience in a kitchen setting, with a Food Hygiene Certificate from NEA. Candidates should be keen to learn, capable of teamwork, and flexible with 6 days per week, 8-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of cooking experience in kitchen environment (e.g., restaurant or hawker centre).
• Willingness to learn and contribute in a team-based kitchen setting.

Responsibilities

• Receive, sort, and store deliveries and in-coming food and ingredient supplies.
• Prepare and cook rice, porridge, or dessert according to menu.
• Prepare meat, fish, vegetables, and fruits according to menu or supervisor instructions.
• Minced, blended, or pureed foods for residents with special dietary needs.
• Prepare, load, and clean food trays, equipment, and service trolleys before/after meals.
• Wash and clean the food preparation area to ensure hygiene and safety.
• Dispose of rubbish to the Bin Centre.
• Assist to receive stocks and check for defects or damage on kitchen fittings and equipment.
• Any other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Management.

JOB SCOPE

The Kitchen Assistant may be assigned by and rotated on any of the following duties:

MEALS SERVICE OPERATIONS

• Receive, sort, and store deliveries and in-coming food and ingredients supplies
• Prepare and cook rice, porridge, or dessert according to the planned menu
• Prepare Meat, fish, vegetables, and fruits according to the menu or as instructed by the Supervisor.
• Mince, blend, or puree food for residents on special dietary needs.
• Prepare, load, and clean food trays, equipment, and service trolleys before and after each meal delivery.
• Wash and clean the food preparation area and ensure they are clean and hygienically safe for use.
• Dispose of all rubbish or waste to the Bin Centre.
• Assist to receive stocks and check for defeats, malfunction, or damage on kitchen fittings, equipment, and furniture designated for the kitchen.

OTHERS

• Any other duties as assigned by the immediate Supervisor or Management Team.
