Job summary

PY COMMODITIES FAR EAST PTE. LTD. in Singapore seeks a diligent commodities trading support professional to assist traders in day-to-day physical trading of copper concentrates, copper ores, lead concentrates and other metal commodities.

The role covers contract preparation, pricing calculations, market monitoring, hedge support, coordination with operations, finance and shipping, and maintaining accurate trading records.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Maritime Studies, Supply Chain or a related discipline.
• 2-3 years of relevant experience in commodity trading, shipping, logistics or trade operations would be an advantage.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills, with good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Good written and spoken English; Mandarin would be an advantage for communication with Chinese counterparties.
• Commercially minded, detail-oriented, proactive and willing to learn.
• Able to work effectively in a fast-paced international trading environment and manage multiple transactions simultaneously.
• Strong communication, coordination and teamwork skills, with the ability to work closely with traders, operations, finance and other internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist traders in the day-to-day physical trading of copper concentrates, copper ores, lead concentrates and other metal commodities.
• Support the preparation and review of purchase and sales contracts, quotations, pricing calculations and commercial terms.
• Monitor LME/LBMA prices, commodity market developments and relevant industry news.
• Assist traders with hedging activities, including monitoring price exposure, hedge positions and coordinating hedge instructions under the supervision of senior traders.
• Follow up with suppliers and buyers on contracts, pricing, shipments, assay results and settlements.
• Coordinate closely with the operations, finance and shipping teams to ensure smooth execution of each transaction.
• Monitor each trade from contract execution through shipment, payment and final settlement.
• Assist with trade position and P&L monitoring.
• Conduct market research and assist in identifying new suppliers, buyers and trading opportunities.
• Maintain proper trading records, pricing sheets and commercial documentation.
• Perform other trading-related duties and projects assigned by senior traders or management.
