Job summary

Drake International Singapore is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Operations Executive to join its hedge fund operations team in Singapore. You will support daily fund operations, coordinate with investment, finance and external counterparties, and help ensure accurate processing of trades, NAV calculations and documentation.

Ideal candidates have 0–2 years in hedge funds or financial services, a finance-related degree, strong numeracy, Excel skills, and a proactive mindset ready to grow within

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Banking or related discipline.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience within hedge funds, asset management, fund administration, banking, brokerage, custody or financial services.
• Fresh graduates with strong academic backgrounds and genuine interest in investment/fund operations welcome.
• Basic understanding of financial markets, investment products and the trade lifecycle advantageous.
• Strong numerical ability and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Support the daily operational activities of the fund and ensure transactions are processed accurately and on time.
• Assist and follow up on failed or unmatched trades with brokers, custodians and other counterparties.
• Assist with monitoring cash balances, margin requirements and funding movements.
• Maintain accurate operational records and supporting documentation.

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Junior Operations Executive to join the Operations team of a hedge fund based in Singapore.

The successful candidate will support the day-to-day operational activities of the fund, working closely with internal investment and finance teams as well as external counterparties such as fund administrators, prime brokers, custodians and other service providers.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional who is looking to build a career within hedge fund or investment management operations and gain hands-on exposure to the operational lifecycle of an investment fund.

Key Responsibilities

Fund & Trade Operations

• Support the daily operational activities of the fund and ensure transactions are processed accurately and on time.
• Assist and follow up on failed or unmatched trades with brokers, custodians and other counterparties.
• Assist with monitoring cash balances, margin requirements and funding movements.
• Maintain accurate operational records and supporting documentation.

NAV & Fund Administration

• Liaise with external fund administrators on daily and/or periodic NAV calculations.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies between internal records and administrator or counterparty records.

Counterparty & Account Administration

• Assist with onboarding and maintaining relationships with prime brokers, custodians, banks, fund administrators and other service providers.
• Support the preparation and maintenance of account-opening and operational documentation.
• Assist with KYC/AML documentation and counterparty due diligence processes.
• Maintain accurate records of agreements, account details and operational contacts.

Reporting & Controls

• Prepare and maintain daily, weekly and monthly operational reports.
• Support the monitoring of operational controls and escalation of exceptions or discrepancies.
• Assist with maintaining internal procedures, operational checklists and process documentation.
• Support audit, compliance and regulatory information requests by preparing relevant operational records and documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve, streamline or automate operational processes.

General Operations Support

• Work closely with the investment, finance, compliance and management teams on operational matters.
• Coordinate with external counterparties and service providers to resolve day-to-day operational issues.
• Support ad hoc projects and operational initiatives as the fund continues to grow.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Banking or a related discipline.
• Approximately 0–2 years of relevant experience within hedge funds, asset management, fund administration, banking, brokerage, custody or financial services.
• Fresh graduates with strong academic backgrounds and a genuine interest in investment/fund operations are welcome to apply.
• Basic understanding of financial markets, investment products and the trade lifecycle would be advantageous.
• Strong numerical ability and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
