Job summary

Fong's Engineering & Manufacturing Pte Ltd is seeking a Junior Buyer to support procurement by creating and managing purchase orders, coordinating with suppliers and internal teams, and maintaining accurate purchasing data to ensure smooth supply chain operations.

You will monitor supplier performance, assist in planning and ERP data upkeep, and liaison with planning, production, QA, and finance on procurement issues to minimize disruptions.

Responsibilities

• Creation of blanket purchase orders for long lead time items for direct materials.
• Creation of purchase orders to suppliers to support production loading plan.
• Follow up with suppliers on PO acknowledgement, delivery confirmation, and overdue deliveries to minimize supply disruption and ensure MRP system is updated accordingly
• Monitor material shortages, excess inventory, and potential supply risks, and elevate issues in a timely manner
• Coordinate with Planning, Production, Store/Warehouse, QA, Finance, and Engineering on procurement-related matters such as shortages, delivery issues, invoice discrepancies, and quality concerns
• Monitor and track supplier On Time Delivery performance and Lead Time monthly
• Support supplier performance review and improvement activities, including follow-up on recurring delivery or quality issues
• Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier data in the MRP/ERP system, including price, lead time, MOQ, order multiple, supplier details, and delivery status
• Generate rolling 12 months supplier forecast based on the production loading plan
• Liaise with forwarder on all inbound and outbound air and sea shipment activities and provide weekly update to production and planner team

About the role
