Job summary

FONG'S ENGINEERING AND MANUFACTURING PTE LTD. is seeking a procurement professional in Singapore to manage blanket PO creation, supplier communications, and alignment with production planning. The role requires detail orientation, analytical thinking, and strong teamwork to prevent disruptions and optimize MRP accuracy.

You will monitor shortages, coordinate with multiple departments, and maintain accurate supplier data while overseeing on-time delivery performance and supplier evaluations.

Responsibilities

• Create blanket purchase orders for long lead time items and POs to suppliers to support the loading plan.
• Follow up on PO acknowledgement, delivery confirmation and overdue deliveries to minimize disruption.
• Monitor shortages, excess inventory and supply risks; raise issues promptly.
• Coordinate with Planning, Production, Store/Warehouse, QA, Finance and Engineering on procurement matters.
• Track supplier On Time Delivery performance and lead times monthly.
• Support supplier performance reviews and address recurring issues.
• Maintain purchasing and supplier data in the MRP/ERP system (price, lead time, MOQ, multiples, etc.).
• Generate rolling 12-month supplier forecast based on production loading plan.
• Liaise with forwarder on inbound/outbound shipments and provide weekly updates.

Job description

Key responsibilities

• Creation of blanket purchase orders for long lead time items for direct materials
• Creation of purchase orders to suppliers to support production loading plan
• Follow up with suppliers on PO acknowledgement, delivery confirmation, and overdue deliveries to minimize supply disruption and ensure MRP system is updated accordingly
• Monitor material shortages, excess inventory, and potential supply risks, and threaten issues in a timely manner
• Coordinate with Planning, Production, Store/Warehouse, QA, Finance, and Engineering on procurement-related matters such as shortages, delivery issues, invoice discrepancies, and quality concerns
• Monitor and track supplier On Time Delivery performance and Lead Time monthly
• Support supplier performance review and improvement activities, including follow-up on recurring delivery or quality issues
• Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier data in the MRP/ERP system, including price, lead time, MOQ, order multiple, supplier details, and delivery status
• Generate rolling 12 months supplier forecast based on the production loading plan
• Liaise with forwarder on all inbound and outbound air and sea shipment activities and provide weekly update to production and planner team
