Job summary

APAR TECHNOLOGIES PTE. LTD. is seeking an accomplished Senior Java Cloud-Native Engineer to deliver reliable software and architect scalable cloud-native applications in a Singapore-based team.

You will adhere to coding standards, review requirements, and participate in Agile ceremonies while guiding junior engineers. The ideal candidate has 10+ years in Java/J2EE, extensive cloud-native experience with Docker and Kubernetes, and strong Unix/Linux skills, plus exposure to streaming tech and data

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in Java/J2EE and cloud-native development.
• At least 3-4 years of experience with cloud-native development, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience in Unix/Linux environments.
• Experience with streaming technologies or Hadoop is an advantage.

Requirements

Education & Experience

• At least 3-4 years of experience with cloud-native development, Docker and Kubernetes .
• Experience working in Unix/Linux environments.
• Experience with streaming technologies or Hadoop is an advantage.

Functional Skills

• Understanding of payment processing and cash management systems.
• Good knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience with Agile and Scrum.
• Knowledge of software design methods.
• Experience with payment processing systems is an advantage.
• Experience working with complex and distributed systems.

Technical Skills

• Strong experience with Java/J2EE .
• Strong knowledge of Spring Framework , including Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, Spring Integration and IoC.
• Experience with Spark Streaming or similar tools.
• Knowledge of messaging platforms such as IBM MQ, RabbitMQ or Apache Kafka .
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes .
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Helm, Argo CD, Jenkins, GitLab Runner, Nexus, Harbor, Maven or Gradle .
• Experience with GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket .
• Experience with TDD/BDD and testing tools such as JUnit, Mockito, Cucumber, Selenium or SoapUI.
• Knowledge of Oracle and PostgreSQL .
• Knowledge of HBase and MongoDB is an advantage.
• Knowledge of application design, development, testing, deployment and support.
• Experience with UML and impact assessment.
• Experience with Shell scripting and tools such as Ansible.
• Experience with performance tuning and fault-tolerant systems.
• Knowledge of Go, Rust or Python is an advantage.
