Job summary

GMP Technologies (S) Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Director (Java) to lead development of web and mobile channel applications and drive architecture, security, and performance enhancements. You will mentor teams and collaborate with product, architects, QA, and stakeholders to ensure timely, compliant delivery.

The role requires deep Java expertise, microservices, CI/CD, and cloud-native practices in a fast-paced financial tech environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT/CS or related field.
• Approximately 10 years of experience delivering IT solutions in financial institutions.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, gRPC, and microservices architecture.
• Experience with internet-facing web and mobile apps with SSO/OIDC/SAML/MFA and OWASP compliance.
• Knowledge of Kafka, APIs, IBM MQ, RabbitMQ, and secure file-based/system integrations.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Git, Jenkins, Maven, GitOps/ArgoCD, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native deployments.
• Understanding of Oracle, NoSQL databases, Elasticsearch, JSON, XML, Protobuf, and OpenAPI.
• Exposure to payments, transaction banking, or cash management is a plus.
• Proven track record delivering large-scale enterprise projects.
• Strong ownership mindset and stakeholder management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Approximately 10 years of experience delivering IT solutions within financial institutions.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, gRPC, and microservices architecture.
• Proven experience delivering internet-facing web and mobile applications with SSO, OIDC, SAML, MFA, secure session management, SPA architectures, and OWASP compliance.
• Strong knowledge of Kafka, APIs, IBM MQ, RabbitMQ, and secure file-based/system integrations.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Git, Jenkins, Maven, GitOps/ArgoCD, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native deployment models.
• Solid understanding of Oracle, NoSQL databases, Elasticsearch, JSON, XML, Protobuf, and OpenAPI.
• Exposure to payments, transaction banking, or cash management domains is an advantage.
• Experience managing and delivering large-scale enterprise system development projects.
• Strong ownership mindset with accountability for outcomes.
