Responsibilities

Job Objectives

The technical lead/ development manager is responsible for providing end-to-end technical leadership, solution architecture, and design governance for the Private Banking Customer onboarding application. The role will work closely with business stakeholders, project teams, development teams, and enterprise architects to deliver scalable, secure, and resilient technology solutions aligned with business and enterprise architecture objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the technical focal point for application delivery, working closely with delivery vendors throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review and challenge proposed solution designs to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, security standards, operational requirements, and project objectives.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to vendor development teams on application architecture, design patterns, coding standards, and best practices.
• Conduct code reviews and technical assessments to ensure solution quality, maintainability, security, and performance requirements are met.
• Support functional and non-functional requirement analysis, solution design reviews, and technical impact assessments.
• Work with project managers, architects, infrastructure teams, testing teams, and vendors to ensure successful delivery of project objectives.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and coordinate resolution of complex application issues across development, testing, and production environments.
• Oversee application release planning, deployment activities, and environment readiness.
• Ensure compliance with organizational application development, security, risk, and change management standards.
• Review technical documentation including solution designs, deployment procedures, operational runbooks, interface specifications, and support documentation.
• Support system integration activities involving upstream and downstream applications.
• Participate in production support, incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist in implementation planning, system cutover preparation, and post-implementation stabilization activities.

The ideal candidate is a strong technology leader with deep architecture expertise, strong banking domain knowledge, and the ability to bridge business and technology teams. The candidate should be passionate about technology innovation, hands-on when required, and capable of influencing technical decisions across multiple stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar domain related professional/technical qualification will be advantageous although not mandatory.
• More than 10 years experience in developing and delivering global/regional IT capabilities for a multi-national/regional company.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Technical Lead, Solution Architect, or Lead Engineer.
• Experience in banking or financial services, preferably with customer onboarding domain

Technical Competencies

• Experience with workflow and business automation platforms such as jBPM, Kogito, and Drools.
• Familiarity with BPMN 2.0 concepts and process modelling using bpmn.io.
• Strong experience in Java enterprise application development and technical solution delivery.
• Deep understanding of Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
• Good understanding of Spring Batch and enterprise batch processing concepts.
• Experience conducting code reviews and providing technical governance for development teams.
• Experience working with external vendors and managing technical delivery outcomes.
• Strong knowledge of application architecture, integration patterns, API design, and distributed systems.
• Experience troubleshooting complex application, integration, and performance issues.
• Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or OpenShift.
• Experience with Linux.
• Good understanding of networking concepts, infrastructure architecture, and application security principles.
• Experience with source control, CI/CD pipelines, and DevSecOps practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred / Advantageous Skills

• Experience in reviewing or governing event-driven and microservices-based architectures.
• Experience with Red Hat JBoss EAP and IBM WebSphere Application Server.
• Experience with DevSecOps toolchains such as Bitbucket, Jenkins, SonarQube, Artifactory, and Nexus.
• Experience with Oracle Database and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Exposure to containerized and cloud-native application platforms.
