Job summary

ALPHAEUS PTE. LTD. seeks an experienced lead for daily data centre operations in Singapore. You will supervise the operations team, manage schedules and ensure monitoring, backup, and incident escalation align with SLAs across enterprise environments.

You will coordinate remote hands, maintain SOPs and records, and liaise with infrastructure teams and vendors to resolve issues promptly. ITIL knowledge is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience in data centre operations with team supervision.
• Practical experience in infrastructure monitoring and escalation.
• Experience with enterprise backup operations (monitoring, tape handling, off-site prep).
• Familiarity with Veritas NetBackup or similar backup platforms.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools such as SolarWinds or Tivoli.
• Ability to maintain SOPs, incident records and audit documentation.
• Understanding data centre access controls and remote hands procedures.
• ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise data centre operations personnel, prepare monthly duty rosters and monitor team performance.
• Oversee monitoring of network, server, application and infrastructure alerts, ensuring timely response and escalation.
• Monitor scheduled backup jobs using Veritas NetBackup or equivalent enterprise backup tools.
• Coordinate backup tape handling, media library activities and off-site tape preparation according to established procedures.
• Maintain incident logs and coordinate fault resolution with infrastructure teams, vendors and service partners.
• Monitor operational jobs and services across enterprise environments, including Windows services, SQL, SAP and web applications.
• Coordinate authorised remote hands activities, including server and network equipment restarts.
• Maintain operating procedures, rack diagrams, equipment inventories and operational records.
• Oversee visitor access, rack key controls, equipment labelling and hardware decommissioning records.
• Monitor facility alerts relating to cooling, UPS, water detection and fire alarm systems, escalating abnormalities to the responsible teams.
• Support audits and report operational incidents, service-level performance and outstanding issues to management.
• Ensure complete shift handovers and follow-up on unresolved incidents.

• Relevant experience in data centre operations, including team supervision or shift leadership.
• Practical experience in infrastructure monitoring, incident escalation and SLA-based service delivery.
• Experience with enterprise backup operations, including backup job monitoring, tape handling and off-site media preparation.
• Familiarity with Veritas NetBackup or equivalent backup platforms.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, IBM Tivoli or equivalent platforms.
• Ability to maintain SOPs, incident records, rack diagrams and audit documentation.
• Understanding of data centre access controls, equipment inventory and remote hands procedures.
• Ability to coordinate technical issues with infrastructure teams and external vendors.
• ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent knowledge of IT service management practices would be an advantage.
