Job summary

GMP Technologies (S) Pte Ltd is seeking an engineer to design, maintain, and enhance Shop Floor Automation (SFA) applications across production lines in Singapore. You will deliver 24/7 Level 1/2 support, diagnose issues, and minimise downtime while collaborating with IT and operations teams.

The role requires a degree in CS/Engineering and 2+ years in factory automation, with SQL and Oracle experience; MES/SFA exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on experience supporting factory automation systems in semiconductor/manufacturing/high-tech environments.
• Proficiency in SQL; Oracle database experience preferred.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, able to work independently and in a team.
• Experience with MES and Shop Floor Automation is a plus; familiarity with SECS/GEM and RMS is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Design, maintain, and enhance Shop Floor Automation (SFA) applications and components.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Design, maintain, and continuously enhance assigned Shop Floor Automation (SFA) applications and components.
• Provide 24/7 Level 1 and Level 2 technical support to ensure the reliable and uninterrupted operation of production lines.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues promptly to minimise production downtime.
• Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to optimise system performance, improve response times, and maximise system availability.
• Gather and analyse user requirements to develop, implement, and deploy application enhancements, particularly for Equipment Manager automation solutions.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation while coordinating application enhancements and deployments within the assigned area.
• Plan and conduct user training to ensure effective utilisation of assigned applications.
• Work closely with cross-functional departments to drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity enhancement, cost reduction, error prevention, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience supporting factory automation systems in semiconductor, manufacturing, or other high-tech production environments.
• Proficiency in SQL, with Oracle database experience preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with users and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Experience in any of the following areas will be an added advantage: Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Shop Floor Automation (SFA). Equipment automation and SECS/GEM protocols. TIBCO Rendezvous (TIB/RV), ZNT PAC development, Fab automation projects, Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) applications, including Statistical Process Control (SPC), Recipe Management Systems (RMS), and MES.
