Job summary

Penta Ocean Construction is seeking a proactive IT Officer to provide L1/L2 application support and system maintenance for shore-based and vessel operations. You will be the key contact for troubleshoting core maritime applications (AMOS & PENTA Horizon), supporting users and ensuring system reliability both in-office and onboard company vessels.

Responsibilities include issuing technical support for AMOS and related software, incident management, routine health checks, user enablement, UAT

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
• Minimum 1 year of IT application support or helpdesk experience.
• Hands-on knowledge of SQL and relational databases (Oracle / MS SQL).
• Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Python) is an advantage.
• Strong communication skills with a user-centric mindset.
• Willingness to travel overseas and board company-owned vessels when required.
• Work location based in Jurong East.

Responsibilities

• Log, investigate, and resolve incidents in line with support SLAs.
• Perform routine health checks on office and vessel servers; assist with security monitoring across platforms.
• Develop user guides and deliver training for office staff and shipboard crew.
• Assist with UAT/testing for application enhancements and upgrades.
• Run basic SQL queries to support data fixes and reporting.

Role Overview:

• Incident Management: Log, investigate, and resolve user-reported incidents in accordance with established support SLAs.


• System Maintenance: Conduct routine health checks on office and vessel servers; assist in monitoring and maintaining system security across vessel management platforms.


• User Enablement: Develop user guides, technical manuals, and deliver software training for office staff and shipboard crew.


• System Enhancements: Gather user feedback and assist with UAT/testing for application enhancements and upgrades.


• Technical Patching: Perform database queries and basic SQL scripts to support data fixes and routine reporting.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.


• Minimum 1 year of experience in an IT Application Support or Helpdesk environment.


• Hands-on knowledge of SQL and Relational Databases (Oracle / MS SQL).


• Basic understanding of server maintenance or scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python) is an advantage.
