Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of IT security, including antivirus, passwords, access control and phishing awareness.

Job Overview

We are looking for a practical and reliable IT Administratorto manage the company’s day-to-day IT needs and ensure that our office systems,computers, accounts, and basic IT infrastructure are running smoothly andsecurely.

The role will primarily focus on IT support, user and devicemanagement, basic system administration, and IT security. The successfulcandidate should be comfortable troubleshooting common IT issues, setting upcomputers and user accounts, managing access and software, and maintaining goodIT security practices.

This is a hands‑on role suited for someone who can workindependently, is organised, and is able to coordinate with external IT vendorswhen more complex technical issues arise.

Key Responsibilities
IT Support & Administration
  • Provide day-to-day IT support to employees for computers, laptops, printers, software, email, Wi‑Fi, and other office IT equipment.
  • Set up and configure computers, laptops, monitors, printers, and other IT equipment for new and existing employees.
  • Manage employee user accounts, passwords, access rights, and permissions.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding of employees by setting up or disabling accounts and collecting company IT equipment.
  • Maintain an updated inventory of company computers, laptops, software, and other IT equipment.
  • Troubleshoot common hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues.
  • Install and maintain approved software and applications.
IT Security
  • Ensure computers and company devices have appropriate antivirus, security updates, and basic protection in place.
  • Perform regular software and operating system updates and security patches.
  • Manage basic access controls to ensure employees only have access to the systems and information required for their work.
  • Monitor and maintain basic security settings for company computers, email, Wi‑Fi, and other IT systems.
  • Educate employees on basic IT security practices, including password security, phishing emails, suspicious links, and safe handling of company information.
  • Report and escape suspected cybersecurity incidents, malware, phishing attempts, or unauthorised access when required.
  • Assist with regular backups and ensure important company data is appropriately protected.
IT Systems & Vendors
  • Maintain basic office IT systems, including Wi‑Fi, printers, shared drives, email systems, and other business applications.
  • Coordinate with external IT service providers, software vendors, and contractors for technical support when required.
  • Keep basic records of IT systems, user accounts, equipment, software licences, and service providers.
  • Assist with the implementation of new IT systems, software, or equipment when required.
  • Support IT requirements for both office and manufacturing operations.
General
  • Ensure IT equipment and systems are maintained in good working condition.
  • Assist management in implementing and maintaining basic IT policies and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure company data and information are handled securely.
  • Perform other IT‑related duties as required.
Educational Background
  • Diploma, Higher Nitec, Nitec, or equivalent qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, IT Support, or a related field.
Experience
  • Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in IT support, IT administration, or a similar role.
  • Experience providing day-to-day technical support to office users.
  • Experience with Windows computers, Microsoft 365/email, printers, Wi‑Fi, and common office IT equipment.
  • Basic understanding of IT security, including antivirus, passwords, access control, software updates, and phishing awareness.
  • Experience setting up and managing user accounts, computers, and IT equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot common hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Experience working with external IT vendors or service providers is an advantage.
Skills & Attributes
  • Practical and hands‑on approach to IT support.

  • Organised and able to maintain proper records of IT equipment and systems.
  • Able to communicate clearly with employees who may not have an IT background.
