Job summary

TikTok is seeking an experienced iOS mobile software engineer to contribute to the Messaging product. You will own client-side development for chat features, including chatrooms, stickers, and Streak interactions, while ensuring high-quality real-time voice/video call experiences and efficient on-device data handling.

The role emphasizes AI-powered tooling to improve development workflows and code quality, alongside ongoing performance optimizations to deliver a smooth user experience on iOS

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronic Information Engineering, or related fields.
• Strong learning and communication skills, and a sustained passion for technology.
• Strong logical analysis and system abstraction abilities; able to understand and debug large and complex code bases.
• Proficient in AI coding tools.
• Solid computer fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, operating systems); proficient in Objective-C or Swift and familiar with the iOS development framework.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the iOS client-side development and iteration of TikTok Messaging, building core chat experiences including the chatroom, stickers, and Streak social-interaction features.
• Develop and optimize real-time Voice & Video Call capabilities and client-side IM infrastructure (IMSDK, on-device data management) to deliver a smooth, and reliable core messaging experience.
• Explore AI-powered engineering efficiency by building AI skills and knowledge bases and creating AI agents to assist daily development and collaboration workflows, improving the team's overall requirement-iteration efficiency and code quality.
• Continuously optimize client performance, stability, and smoothness, optimize package size and resource consumption, and improve the user experience.
