Job summary

Qualifications

  • Pursuing or completed Bachelor's in Maritime Studies.
  • Strong analytical abilities to collect, interpret data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Prepare HSSEQ-related bulletins and newsletters under supervision.
  • Monitor and trend the effectiveness of campaigns and projects rolled out to crew and vessels.
  • Prepare training materials and placards for culture and awareness enhancements of ship and shore employees.
  • Support planning of Crisis Management & incident management.
  • Support plans for continual HSSEQ delivery improvements.
  • Support analysis of all HSSEQ data.
  • Monitor and update HSSEQ KPIs scorecard.
  • Engagement and training to support safe operations of vessels.
  • Maintain incident and injury database.

Day-to-day activities will include reviewing incident reports and near-miss statistics, creating campaign materials such as toolbox talk guides, safety bulletins, and infographics, and supporting the evaluation of deployed campaigns. The intern will gain hands-on exposure to maritime safety management systems and contribute directly to evidence-based initiatives that improve shipboard safety culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare HSSEQ and Compliance related Bulletins and Newsletter under supervision.
  • Monitor, track and trend the effectiveness of campaigns and projects rolled out to crew and vessels.
  • Prepare placards/ training materials under guidance for culture and awareness enhancements of ship and shore employees.
  • Support the planning of Crisis Management & incident management
  • Support the plans and strategies for continual improvement of HSSEQ delivery.
  • Support the analysis of all HSSEQ data.
  • Monitor, track and update Marine and HSSEQ KPIs scorecard.
  • Engagement and training to support safe operations of vessels.
  • Upkeep incident and injury database.
Key Requirements
  • Strong academic background with a keen interest in health, safety, security, and environmental management in the maritime industry.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data effectively.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
