Job summary

The Ministry of Trade and Industry (Singapore) is seeking a Deputy Director (Land) to lead the Land Policy team in shaping industrial land and space policy. Qualifications

• At least 8–10 years of relevant experience in public policy, economic development, land use planning, infrastructure planning, or related areas.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to assess complex policy issues and develop practical, evidence-based recommendations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively across Government agencies, statutory boards, industry stakeholders and senior management.
• Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to guide teams through ambiguity and drive outcomes in a dynamic environment.
• The ability to appreciate and synthesise diverse perspectives, balance competing priorities, and build consensus across stakeholders.
• A strong interest in Singapore’s economic development and industrial transformation.
• Comfort working with data, economic concepts and market trends to support policy analysis and decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team to formulate and implement industrial land policies.
• Ensure sufficient industrial land and space for medium- and long-term needs; safeguard land and optimise use.
• Collaborate with MTI’s economic agencies and industry partners to anchor investments and growth.
• Partner with JTC Corporation on development of innovative industrial facilities and districts.
• Monitor industrial property market; coordinate pricing and rental policy with JTC for stability.
• Oversee policy, governance and corporate matters relating to JTC Corporation and subsidiaries.
• Represent MTI on inter-agency platforms and engage stakeholders to build consensus.
• Lead and develop a high-performing team, providing growth opportunities and mentorship.
