Job summary

U3 INFOTECH PTE. LTD. is seeking an ICT Infrastructure Engineer (Storage) for 12-month projects in Singapore. The role covers storage and backup infrastructure across implementation and operations, with emphasis on reliability, security, performance, and production readiness.

You will support deployments, migrations, capacity planning, and day-to-day operations, while contributing to automation and AI-assisted improvements. Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in storage engineering, infrastructure engineering or related roles.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise storage platforms such as Hitachi, NetApp, Dell EMC, Pure Storage, HPE.
• Strong knowledge of SAN, NAS, iSCSI, NFS, and CIFS/SMB storage technologies.
• Experience with data migrations, storage consolidation, lift-and-shift and re-platforming.
• Hands-on experience with backup platforms such as Veritas NetBackup, Commvault, Veeam, Dell EMC NetWorker.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell with infrastructure automation experience.
• Familiarity with AWS S3, AWS Backup, on-prem/cloud/hybrid environments.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute storage and backup implementation projects including deployments, expansions, migrations, lift-and-shift, and decommissioning.
• Support data migration activities ensuring data integrity, security, and operational continuity.
• Design and manage enterprise backup infrastructure including policies, schedules, retention, and targets.
• Perform backup monitoring, troubleshooting, restoration, and disaster recovery testing.
• Develop security baselines, hardening standards, and runbooks for storage and backup environments.
• Document test results and obtain production sign-offs.

Role Overview:

• ICT Infrastructure Engineer responsible for enterprisestorage and backup infrastructureacross project implementation and operations.

• Support storage deployments, capacity expansions, migrations, modernization, re-platforming, and day-to-day operational activities.

• Ensure infrastructure is reliable, secure, performant, compliant, and production-ready.

• Contribute to automation, AI-assisted operations, process improvement, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute storage and backup implementation projects, including new deployments, expansions, migrations, lift-and-shift, re-platforming, and legacy decommissioning.

• Support data migration activities, ensuring data integrity, security, operational continuity, and minimal disruption.

• Design, implement, configure, and manage enterprise backup infrastructure, including backup policies, schedules, retention, and backup targets.

• Perform backup monitoring, troubleshooting, restoration, recovery validation, and disaster recovery testing against defined RTO/RPO requirements.

• Develop and maintain security baselines, hardening standards, test cases, and implementation documentation for storage and backup environments.

• Conduct functional, performance, security, and recovery testing; document results and obtain required production sign-offs.

• Monitor storage and backup capacity, performance, availability, and health; handle incidents, maintenance, troubleshooting, and operational support.

• Identify and implement automation using Python, Bash, PowerShell, and AI/LLM-assisted tools for scripting, log analysis, anomaly detection, and runbook automation.

• Collaborate with server, network, database, application, security, and compliance teams to deliver infrastructure projects and maintain operational continuity.

• Maintain technical documentation, procedures, runbooks, knowledge bases, audit evidence, and process improvements within an ITIL-aligned operational environment.

Technical Qualifications & Experience

• 5+ yearsof experience in storage engineering, infrastructure engineering, infrastructure operations, or related roles; degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

• Hands-on experience with enterprise storage platforms such asHitachi, NetApp, Dell EMC, Pure Storage, HPE, or equivalent.

• Strong knowledge ofSAN, NAS, iSCSI, NFS, and CIFS/SMBstorage technologies and protocols.

• Experience with storage migrations, data migrations, storage consolidation, lift-and-shift, re-platforming, capacity expansion, and legacy platform decommissioning.

• Hands-on experience with enterprise backup platforms such asVeritas NetBackup, Commvault, Veeam, Dell EMC NetWorker, or equivalent.

• Strong knowledge of backup concepts includingdeduplication, replication, snapshots, retention, offsite backup, cloud backup, restoration, and disaster recovery.

• Experience withsecurity hardening, security baselines, functional/performance/security testing, compliance, audits, and relevant infrastructure security frameworks.

• Proficiency inPython, Bash, or PowerShellwith practical experience in infrastructure automation; AI/ML orLLM-assisted operationsexperience is an advantage.

• Familiarity withAWS S3, AWS Backup, or equivalent cloud storage/backup platforms, including on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.

• Strong communication, documentation, troubleshooting, collaboration, ownership, and prioritization skills; experience inITIL or structured operations environmentsis a plus.
