SEATRIUM (SG) PTE. LTD. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and optimize HVAC systems for marine vessels, offshore platforms, and renewable energy projects.

You will perform load calculations, select equipment, and specify system components, while leading projects from concept to completion. The role requires 3–5 years in mechanical engineering, proficiency with SolidWorks/AutoCAD, MagiCAD, Carrier HAP, and Trane TRACE 700, plus strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field required.
  • Specialized courses in fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer beneficial.
  • 3–5 years in mechanical engineering, preferably marine/offshore/renewables.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and energy/thermal analysis tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and data interpretation abilities.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Team-oriented with collaborative mindset.
  • Flexible to changing project requirements and priorities.
  • Proactive in identifying and implementing innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

Job description

Responsibilities

Create and optimize designs for HVAC systems used in marine vessels, offshore platforms, and renewable energy installations, including High Voltage AC/DC platforms.

Design and Development: Create detailed designs for HVAC systems, including calculating heating and cooling loads, selecting appropriate equipment, and specifying system components.

Project Management: Lead and manage engineering projects from concept through to completion, ensuring all milestones are met on time and within budget.

Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, project managers and operation team, to ensure integrated and sustainable solutions.

Compliance and Safety: Ensure all designs and systems comply with contract specification, industry rules and regulations, and safety protocols.

Documentation: Prepare technical documentation, including Equipment Technical Specification, Duct & Instrument Diagram, Functional Design Specification, and Site Acceptance Test.

Innovation: Stay updated with the latest advancements in marine and renewable energy technologies and incorporate innovative solutions into projects.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field. Specialized courses in fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer are highly beneficial
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in the marine, offshore or renewable energy sectors.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD), MagiCAD,Carrier HAP (Hourly Analysis Program), Trane TRACE 700 and knowledge of Building Management Systems.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and experience with data analysis and interpretation.
  • Ability to convey complex technical information clearly to nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and implementing innovative solutions.
