Job summary

Index-Cool Engineering is seeking an experienced HVAC engineering lead in Singapore to guide the team in delivering detailed marine/offshore HVAC designs. You will calculate loads, select equipment, and ensure designs meet project requirements and industry standards.

The role requires 8+ years in HVAC engineering, fluency in English and local languages, and proficiency with AutoCAD, Carrier HAP, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Engineering required.
• Minimum of 8 years of HVAC engineering experience, preferably in marine/offshore sectors.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Carrier HAP (Hourly Analysis Program).
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong bilingual communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering team to deliver detailed HVAC system designs that meet project requirements and industry standards.
• Calculate heating and cooling loads and select HVAC equipment to optimize system performance.
• Prepare and submit technical documentation and drawings, including equipment specs, duct and instrument diagrams, and test reports.
• Lead and facilitate technical meetings with shipyard and client stakeholders to resolve engineering issues.
• Collaborate with shipyard, client, production, project teams, suppliers, and auditors to ensure seamless project execution.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management to support engineering and project objectives.

Responsibilities

• Calculate heating and cooling loads and select appropriate HVAC equipment to optimize system performance


• Prepare and submit comprehensive technical documentation and drawings, including Equipment Technical Specifications, Duct & Instrument Diagrams, Functional Design Specifications, and Site Acceptance Test reports according to project schedules


• Lead and facilitate technical meetings with shipyard and client stakeholders to ensure alignment and resolve engineering issues


• Collaborate closely with shipyard, client, production and project teams, suppliers, and auditors to ensure seamless project execution


• Perform other duties as assigned by management to support engineering and project objectives

Required competencies and certifications

• Degree or Diploma in Engineering or equivalent


• Minimum of 8 years of experience in HVAC engineering, preferably within marine and offshore sectors


• Proficiency in AutoCAD software and Carrier HAP (Hourly Analysis Program)
