Job summary

Katoen Natie Singapore (Jurong) Pte. Ltd. is seeking a Safety, Health, Quality and Environment (SHQ) role on Jurong Island to establish and maintain WHS documentation, conduct risk assessments, and lead training.

You will inspect operations, implement control measures, and liaise with authorities to ensure compliance with safety standards. The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of relevant experience, strong interpersonal skills, and a hands-on approach to safety management.

Qualifications

• At least 2-3 years of working experience (preferred chemical manufacturing, warehousing & logistic industry)
• Willing and able to work on Jurong Island
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong operational background and a keen eye for details
• Ability to work at height and climb cat ladders.
• Proficiency in MS office applications and other in-house software.
• Good interpersonal skills
• Positive working attitude
• Experience in handling dust hazard analysis will be advantageous

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update HSSEQ documentation per legislation
• Review method statements and risk assessments per WHS Act
• Assist risk assessments and implement controls for chemical handling, storage, transport
• Inspect and audit to ensure compliance with WHS legislations and safety systems
• Conduct daily inspections to identify unsafe conditions
• Recommend and implement practicable corrective measures
• Respond to non-conformities, near misses and incidents; support operations
• Investigate root causes and provide corrective recommendations; track actions
• Prepare HSSEQ KPI reports and support audits and drills
• Liaise with authorities for permits, inspections, reporting
• Coordinate with vendors/contractors for safety equipment and tests
• Plan and deliver HSSEQ training for staff, visitors and hauliers
• Oversee site security and manage the security provider
• Other duties as assigned
• Cover duties during absences

Job description

• Assist in establishment, upkeep of Workplace Safety and Health documentation and records in accordance with Workplace Safety and Health Legislation.


• Review method statements & risk assessment (if required) in accordance with Workplace Safety and Health Act and Subsidiary legislation


• Be involved in risk assessments and support stakeholders in the implementation of control measures for chemical handling, storage, and transportation


• Inspect & audit workplace to ensure compliance with Workplace Safety and Health legislations, company's safety management system and clients requirement.


• Carry out daily inspections to identify any unsafe condition and unsafe work practice which is carried out on the workplace.


• Assist, recommend and support in implementing reasonably practicable measures to remedy the unsafe condition and unsafe work practice.


• Respond to Non-conformities, Near Misses and Incidents to provide support to Operations, CERT Team and other departments.


• Investigate and provide recommendations to address root causes of such non-conformities, near misses and incidents. Follow up and provide support to close incident actions promptly.


• Conduct and generate reports for HSSEQ KPIs and performance metrics, internal & external audits, client assessments, authority assessments, table-top exercises, emergency drills, security drills. Close follow up to close findings action.


• Liaise with relevant authorities for permits, inspections, and reporting.


• Liaise with vendors, contractors to maintain emergency and fire safety equipment and perform monthly fire alarm testing


• Plan, Develop and Deliver of HSSEQ training for staff, visitors, contractors and hauliers.


• Responsible for Site Security and manage Security Agency that is providing 24hrs site security services.


• Duties as assigned by superior.


• Cover duties upon absence of team member.

Job requirements

• ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 Internal Auditor Trained will be an advantage
