Job summary

SsangYong Engineering & Construction Co. Ltd seeks an experienced Cost Control Engineer to support cost management for a large-scale hospital development project in Singapore.

You will monitor budgets, prepare cost forecasts and reports, and coordinate with multiple teams to manage costs and variances. The role requires 5+ years in construction cost control, hospital project exposure, and strong skills in cost management, Excel, ERP, and Primavera P6.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in construction cost control.
• Hospital or healthcare construction project experience required.
• Experience in large-scale building construction projects is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of cost management, budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
• Experience with subcontractor costs, procurement costs, variations and claims.
• Familiarity with contracts and commercial management practices.
• Proficient in Excel and other cost-control/project management software.
• Experience with ERP systems is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Primavera P6 and integration of schedule and cost information is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Able to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control project costs against the approved budget throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare and maintain project budgets, cost reports, forecasts and cost projections.
• Monitor actual expenditure, commitments, subcontract costs, procurement costs and variations.
• Analyse cost variances and identify potential cost overruns and cost risks.
• Prepare monthly cost reports and provide timely cost information to Project Management.
• Review subcontractor and supplier payment claims against contract terms, work progress and supporting documents.
• Monitor project variations, claims and their cost implications.
• Coordinate with Quantity Surveying, Commercial, Procurement, Planning and Project teams on cost-related matters.
• Assist in preparing cost forecasts and cash-flow projections.
• Maintain accurate records of project costs, commitments and commercial documentation.
• Provide cost analysis and reports to support project management and cost-control decisions.
• Perform other cost-control and commercial duties as assigned.
