Job summary

Nanyang International School seeks a seasoned Finance Manager to lead strategic financial planning, reporting, and cost optimisation in Singapore.

You will manage day-to-day finance operations, payroll, budgeting, and compliance while collaborating with department heads to align resources with academic goals.

A CPA/CA with 3–5 years in international private education and strong Excel and Xero/QuickBooks skills is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
  • CPA or CA certification.
  • 3–5 years of progressive financial management experience in an international private education setting.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Singapore financial regulations and accounting standards.
  • Strong business acumen, financial analysis, forecasting and budgeting skills.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficiency in Xero/QuickBooks Online would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day finance operations including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
  • Develop and monitor annual budgets in alignment with the institution's strategic goals.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements with timely reporting to management.
  • Conduct financial analysis to support planning of future academic programs and initiatives.
  • Implement and monitor financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Collaborate with heads of departments to forecast and optimise resources.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, statutory requirements, and reporting standards.
  • Manage cash flow and optimise financial operations to support growth.
  • Review monthly payroll and bank submissions for staff and adjunct lecturers.
  • Oversee and manage all tax-related matters including GST reporting and filing, corporate tax compliance, and liaison with external tax advisors and authorities.

About the role

  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must.
