Nanyang Institute of Management (NIM) in Singapore seeks a Group Accounts Senior Executive / Assistant Manager to lead financial planning, ensure timely reporting, and drive cost-efficiency across the institution.

You will oversee day-to-day accounting, budgeting, payroll, statutory filings, audits, and collaboration with department heads to optimise resources while maintaining strict compliance with Singapore regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
  • CPA or CA certification
  • 3–5 years of progressive financial management experience in an international private education setting
  • Knowledge of Singapore financial regulations and accounting standards
  • Strong analytical, forecasting and budgeting abilities; good communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial reporting
  • Develop and monitor annual budgets aligned with the institution's strategic goals
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements with timely reporting to management
  • Conduct financial analysis to support planning of future academic programs and initiatives
  • Implement and monitor financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Collaborate with heads of departments to forecast and optimise resources
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, statutory requirements, and reporting standards
  • Manage cash flow and optimise financial operations to support growth
  • Review monthly payroll and conduct staff/adjunct lecturer bank submissions
  • Oversee tax matters including GST, corporate tax, and liaise with external advisors
  • Ensure timely statutory filings and regulatory submissions, including audits
  • Coordinate internal and external audits and implement audit recommendations
  • Monitor changes in accounting standards and tax regulations and implement updates
  • Any other duties as assigned

The Role:

Report directly to the President and play a key role in providing strategic financial planning, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and driving initiatives to improve cost efficiency and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage day-to-day operations, including accounts payable & receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
  • Develop and monitor annual budgets in alignment with the institution's strategic goals.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting to management.
  • Conduct financial analysis to support the planning of future academic programs and initiatives.
  • Implement and monitor financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Collaborate with heads of departments to forecast and optimise resources.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, statutory requirements, and reporting standards.
  • Manage cash flow and optimise financial operations to support the institution's growth.
  • Review monthly payroll and perform bank submissions for staff and adjunct lecturers.
  • Oversee and manage all tax-related matters, including GST reporting and filing, corporate tax compliance, and liaison with external tax advisors and regulatory authorities.
  • Ensure timely submission of all statutory filings and regulatory requirements, including annual returns, surveys, and other compliance obligations with relevant government agencies.
  • Coordinate and support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with audit requirements and recommendations.
  • Monitor changes in accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements, and implement necessary updates to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
  • Professional certifications such as CPA(Certified Public Accountant) or CA (Chartered Accountant).
  • 3-5 years of progressive financial management experience, within an international private education setting.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Singapore's financial regulations and accounting standards.
  • Strong business acumen, financial analysis, forecasting and budgeting skills.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must.
  • Proficiency in Xero/Quickbook online would be an advantage.
