Job summary

ByteDance seeks a Graduate AI Agent Algorithm Engineer to join its global e-commerce conversational AI team. You will own end-to-end components and ship production-ready systems across 30+ languages, focusing on agent runtimes, memory management, and tool integration.

You will post-train and fine-tune LLMs, build data flywheels from conversations, and contribute to evaluations and guardrails in a fast-paced, globally distributed environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in CS/AI or quantitative field; strong ML/DL fundamentals.
• Proficiency in Python and at least one of C++, Go, Rust, Java.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs or agent systems through coursework, internship, or projects.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve the agent runtime powering customer-service agents; orchestrate skills, tools, and context.
• Engineer context and memory for long multi-turn agents; memory, summarization, and retrieval workflows.
• Post-train and fine-tune LLMs and build data flywheels turning conversations into signals.
• Design and integrate tools, Skills, and MCP connectors; enable tool search in large inventories.
