Job summary

Mornington Supergrocer Pte. Ltd. is seeking a driven Junior Sous Chef / Kitchen Lead to join a brand new small-scale bistro serving modern fusion cuisine, blending Western classics with rich Asian flavors.

You'll be hands-on on the cooking line, supervise and train kitchen staff to maintain high efficiency, manage stock and food costs, and enforce strict hygiene and safety standards to deliver consistent quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a commercial kitchen.
• Proficient in Western cooking techniques (pan-searing, sauces, etc).
• Valid Food Hygiene / Food Safety Certification; culinary diploma/certificate preferred but not required.
• Strong leadership under pressure, detail-oriented, passion for flavor innovation and good communication.

Responsibilities

• Menu Execution: Hands-on cooking on the line and ensuring quality of all dishes.
• Kitchen Leadership: Supervise and train kitchen staff to maintain efficiency and morale.
• Cost & Inventory Control: Manage stock, FIFO, storage, and minimize waste to hit food costs.
• Hygiene & Safety: Ensure compliance with health regulations and kitchen sanitation.
