Job summary

SBM Offshore is seeking a Construction Quality Explosive Environment Inspector in Singapore to oversee FPSO construction phases, ensuring equipment and installations in explosive atmospheres meet ATEX/IECEx and regulatory safety standards.

You will inspect hazardous area zones, verify explosion protection methods, maintain inspection records, and collaborate with Ex engineering teams to implement corrective actions, supporting a safe and compliant offshore project.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Safety Engineering or related field.
• Certification in ATEX/IECEx/NEC or equivalent mandatory; additional certifications desirable.
• FPSO or offshore construction experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee construction activities within explosive environments (hazardous areas) per safety standards (ATEX/IECEx/NEC).
• Inspect hazardous area zones during construction to verify classifications and protective measures.
• Ensure explosion protection methods and equipment are installed and compliant.
• Verify installation of explosion-proof electrical equipment, wiring, and instrumentation.
