Job summary

Rise Social is seeking a Construction Quality Explosive Environment Inspector to oversee FPSO construction at a shipyard, ensuring that all equipment and installations meet explosive atmosphere safety standards (ATEX/IECEx) and that appropriate protective measures are in place.

You will inspect hazardous area zones, verify explosion-protection methods, and maintain inspection records to support compliance with safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Safety Engineering or related field required.
• Certification in ATEX/IECEx/NEC mandatory.
• Experience with hazardous area classifications (Zone 0/1/2) preferred.
• FPSO or offshore construction experience is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of explosion protection techniques and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee construction activities in explosive environments according to standards and project specifications.
• Inspect hazardous area zones and verify correct installation of equipment and wiring.
• Verify explosion-protection methods and flameproof/intrinsic safety equipment installations.
• Maintain comprehensive inspection records and report non-conformances to Ex leads and safety teams.
• Coordinate with Ex engineering teams and construction crew to resolve issues and ensure safety compliance.
• Promote a safety-conscious culture and ensure compliance with safety protocols on site.
