Job summary

Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts, is seeking a Food & Beverage Captain for Baba Chews Restaurant (Non-Halal). You will be based at the hotel and ensure exceptional guest experiences across room service and pool side.

The role requires a High School or Vocational Certificate in hospitality with at least 1 year of related experience; bartending/wine knowledge is a plus. You will uphold grooming standards and support daily promotions and team growth.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of all food & beverage menu items available to Room Service and pool side.
• Experience with wine and wine pairings is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Know the full F&B menu for Room Service and pool side.
• Demonstrate knowledge of wine pairings.
• Greet guests and provide prompt service for items ordered.
• Occasionally take room service orders by telephone and via guest apps.
• Collect orders from the kitchen and ensure they are prepared and presented correctly.
• Keep informed about daily promotions, specials, and updates.
• Check back with guests to ensure satisfaction and identify further needs.
• Maintain storage areas, cleanliness and organization.
• Anticipate guest or operational needs and report issues to supervision.
• Maintain high standards of personal grooming and wear uniform at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the F&B Operations Manager.

Job description

Join us as a Food & Beverage Captain in Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong where you will be based at our Baba Chews Restaurant (Non-Halal). You’ll have ambition, talent and obviously, some key skills. We’re looking for someone who can:

Guest Experience

• Have a complete knowledge of all food and beverage menu items available to Room Service and pool side.
• Have a good knowledge of wine and wine pairings.
• Greet guests appropriately and provide service upon items ordered promptly.
• Occasionally take room service orders by telephone and by the in‑room ordering guest apps or other devices.
• Collect orders from the kitchen, ensure they have been prepared and presented correctly.
• Read and retain all pertinent information regarding daily promotions, food and beverage specials.
• May check back with guests to ensure they are enjoying their meal, and determine if they have any other needs.
• Check storage areas for proper supplies, organization and cleanliness.
• Be able to anticipate guest or operational needs.
• Ensure room service equipment is functioning properly and report any problems to the Room Service Manager.
• Maintain high standards of personal grooming, including wearing the proper uniform and name tag at all times.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Food and Beverage Operation Manager.

Qualifications and Requirements

High School or Vocational Certificate in Hotel Management, Food & Beverage, or related field, with 1 year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Bartendering and experience with alcoholic drinks and non‑alcoholic drinks is advantageous.
