Job summary

Petra, a modern Mediterranean dining concept in Dempsey, Singapore, is seeking a Floor Captain to support daily front-of-house operations and lead the service team during shifts. You will help maintain high hospitality standards and ensure guests have a warm, memorable dining experience.

Working with an experienced hospitality team, you will deepen your knowledge of the menu and beverages, coordinate with kitchen and bar, handle guest requests, and contribute to a collaborative, professional

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment.
• Genuine passion for hospitality and guest experiences.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Confident in leading and supporting a team during busy service periods.
• Good knowledge of food, beverages, and restaurant service.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Restaurant Manager with daily front of house operations.
• Support smooth service and maintain high hospitality standards during each shift.
• Welcome guests with warm, attentive, and knowledgeable service.
• Stay knowledgeable about the menu, ingredients, and beverages.
• Ensure service is accurate and efficient to Petra's standards.
• Coordinate with kitchen and bar teams to ensure smooth service.
• Handle guest requests and feedback professionally.
• Monitor the dining room for cleanliness and presentation.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures and training new team members.
• Ensure hygiene and operational guidelines are followed.
• Support stock checks and other operational duties as needed.

You will be part of a new and ambitious dining destination, working alongside an experienced hospitality team to create a warm, welcoming, and memorable experience for every guest.

As a Floor Captain, you will play an important role in supporting the management team with the day-to-day operations of the restaurant. You will help lead the service team during shifts, ensure smooth and efficient service, and maintain high standards of hospitality throughout the guest journey. This is an opportunity for someone who is passionate about hospitality, enjoys working with people, and is looking to grow their leadership skills in a dynamic restaurant environment.

What you'll do

• Assist the Restaurant Manager and management team with daily front of house operations
• Support the smooth running of service and ensure high standards of hospitality are maintained throughout each shift
• Welcome and engage with guests, providing warm, attentive, and knowledgeable service throughout their dining experience
• Maintain a strong understanding of the menu, ingredients, preparation methods, and beverage offerings
• Ensure food and beverages are served accurately, efficiently, and according to Petra's standards
• Monitor table service and coordinate closely with the kitchen and bar teams to ensure smooth service
• Assist with handling guest requests, feedback, and service recovery in a professional and thoughtful manner
• Monitor the dining room throughout service to ensure cleanliness, presentation, and overall guest comfort
• Assist with opening and closing procedures, including preparation and closing duties
• Support the training and development of new and existing team members
• Ensure all service procedures, hygiene standards, and operational guidelines are followed
• Assist the management team with inventory checks, stock control, and other operational duties when required
• Help maintain a positive, collaborative, and professional working environment within the team
