Genic (Singapore) Pte Ltd is seeking a hands-on Finance Manager to own the company’s financial operations within a growing manufacturing environment. You will lead the finance team, drive cost control, and provide strategic financial insights to management.

You will manage full accounting cycles, including costing, budgeting, treasury, and financial reporting, while ensuring strong controls and regulatory compliance. Mandarin ability is a plus; immediate availability preferred.

Job description

Role Overview

We are seeking a hands‑on and commercially minded Finance Manager to take full ownership of the company's financial operations and play a key leadership role in our growing manufacturing business.

Beyond managing the full set of accounts and financial reporting, you will be closely involved in manufacturing costing, profitability analysis, budgeting and forecasting, treasury and cash flow management and business planning, providing meaningful financial insights to support key business decisions. You will lead the finance team and work closely with management and operations to drive cost efficiency, strengthen financial controls and processes, and support the company's continued growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise the finance team, including work allocation, performance management and development, while ensuring timely and accurate completion of all finance and accounting activities.
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR, GL, reconciliations, payment processing and maintenance of accurate and up‑to‑date financial records.
  • Oversee manufacturing costing, including standard costing, product costing, cost roll‑ups and analysis of material, labour, depreciation, yield and overhead costs.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and prepare rolling forecasts, monitoring actual performance against budget and providing meaningful variance analysis and recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Monitor actual performance against budget, analyse variances and work with relevant departments on corrective actions.
  • Monitor inventory, work‑in‑progress (WIP) and finished goods, including stock movements, valuation, reconciliation and investigation of variances.
  • Analyse product profitability, margins, cost structures and manufacturing variances to support pricing decisions, cost control and profitability improvement initiatives.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital and liquidity, including cash flow forecasting, treasury activities, banking relationships and financial facilities, while ensuring payment obligations are completed accurately and on time.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to facilitate timely completion of audits, statutory filings and tax matters, and ensure prompt closure of audit findings and implementation of agreed recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with Singapore accounting and tax requirements, including preparation and submission of GST returns, statutory filings with IRAS and ACRA, and other applicable tax and regulatory obligations.
  • Maintain and strengthen effective internal controls, accounting policies and procedures to improve financial governance and minimise financial and operational risks.
  • Provide meaningful financial insights and recommendations to management to support business planning, cost control and profitability improvement.
  • Work closely with management and manufacturing teams to improve cost efficiency, working capital and profitability.
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support business and strategic decisions.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline. ACCA, CPA or CA qualification will be an advantage.
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant accounting/finance experience, with substantial experience in a manufacturing environment, precision engineering or industrial environment.
  • Good knowledge of Singapore accounting standards, taxation and statutory compliance requirements, including IRAS and ACRA filings.
  • Strong understanding and hands‑on experience in product costing, standard costing, inventory and WIP accounting, cost roll‑ups and manufacturing variance analysis.
  • Strong experience in full‑set accounts, month‑end and year‑end closing, financial reporting, reconciliations and management accounts.
  • Strong knowledge and hands‑on experience in treasury, cash flow management, working capital, banking relationships and financial facilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with the capability to identify issues, evaluate risks and implement practical, business‑focused solutions.
  • Effective leadership skills, with the ability to lead, guide and develop the finance team while remaining hands‑on in day‑to‑day finance operations.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with SQL Account.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with strong financial modelling, analytical and reporting capabilities.
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced SME environment and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • High level of integrity and accountability, with strong attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently and cross‑functionality, take ownership of responsibilities, and meet strict reporting and statutory deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin will be an advantage, as the role involves regular communication with China‑based counterparts and business stakeholders.
  • Immediate availability or short notice is preferred.
