Job summary

TERADYNE (ASIA) PTE. LTD. is seeking a hands-on technician to install, troubleshoot, and maintain HDD test systems and smart storage equipment in Woodlands.

The role requires working 12-hour rotating shifts on-site and collaborating with engineers and production teams to keep downtime to a minimum. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, publish shift reports, and help drive continuous improvements in troubleshooting methods.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of mechatronic fundamentals: bearings, gearboxes, actuators, pneumatic systems.
• Electrical fundamentals: AC/DC, power distribution, grounding.
• Electronics fundamentals: sensors, transducers, analog/digital signals.

Responsibilities

• Install and set up new machines.

Work Location: Woodlands, 100% on-site, on 12-hours rotating shift

Opportunity Overview

• Install and set up new machine
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on hard drive testing and smart storage machines, including components such as motors, drivers, sensors, actuators, pneumatic systems, and control panels
• Continuously improving troubleshooting methods and processes
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance execution process
• Monitor machine performance and make improvements to reduce downtime
• Support root cause analysis and provide solutions for recurring equipment failures
• Collaborate with engineers and production teams to ensure smooth operations
• Publish shift reports

• Strong understanding of mechatronic fundamentals:
• 60% : Solid knowledge of mechanical principles such as bearings, gearboxes, actuators, and pneumatic systems.
• 20% : knowledge of electrical fundamentals, including AC/DC principles, power distribution, protective devices, and grounding
• 20% : Knowledge of electronics fundamentals, including sensors, transducers, and analog/digital signals.

• Ability to use AI tools (preferably Microsoft solutions) or excel to analyze the data.
• Strong computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Solid presentation skills and effective communication in English.
• Ability to work independently, collaborate effectively as part of a team to achieve objectives.
• Operate process equipment, instrumentation and other equipment related to the production according to the work instructions.
• Be able to work as office hour (Mon – Sat) during training period,eventually moving to rotatingday and night shift(12-hours)

Desirable

• High vocational certificate or higher in Electronics, Electrical or Mechatronic or related field.
• 0-5 years of experience in HDD test systems or automation related experience.
