Job summary

Teradyne Asia Pte Ltd is seeking a field/service supervisor to lead a team responsible for on-site HDD test systems installations and maintenance. You will troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, develop maintenance plans, and ensure timely delivery of projects at customer sites.

The role requires strong mechatronics knowledge, data-analysis capability, and willingness to travel internationally. Excellent communication in English and proficiency with Microsoft Office are essential.

Opportunity Overview

• Lead and supervise the team to achieve operational goals.
• Develop and manage employee work plans and schedules.
• Oversee new machine installation projects, ensuring timely and successful delivery according to plan.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on hard disk drive testing and smart storage machines, including components such as motors, drivers, sensors, actuators, pneumatic systems, and control panels.
• Continuously improving troubleshooting methods and processes.
• Develop preventive and corrective maintenance execution process and plan.
• Fluent in 8D reports using problem-solving tools such as FMEA, Fishbone Diagram, 5-Why, and 4W1H.
• Conduct regular meetings with customers to discuss installation plans, service activities, and provide daily/weekly service reports. Communicate effectively regarding issues, root causes, and corrective/preventive actions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction and long-term partnership.

• Strong understanding of mechatronic fundamentals:
  - 60%: Solid knowledge of mechanical principles such as bearings, gearboxes, actuators, and pneumatic systems.
  - 20%: knowledge of electrical fundamentals, including AC/DC principles, power distribution, protective devices, and grounding
  - 20%: Knowledge of electronics fundamentals, including sensors, transducers, analog/digital signals.
• Ability to use AI tools (preferably Microsoft solutions) or excel to analyze the data.
• Strong computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Solid presentation skills and effective communication in English.
• Ability to work independently, collaborate effectively as part of a team, and lead a team to achieve objectives.
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally.

Desirable

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics is preferred or other relevant Engineering disciplines such as Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical.
• 3 years or above of experience in HDD test systems or service or maintenance or other precise automation related fields (preferred).
