Job summary

BD is a leading global medical technology company. The technician role provides technical expertise to support manufacturing, focusing on machine enhancements, preventive maintenance, and downtime reduction.

You will lead activities and collaborate with engineers in a 12-hour rotational shift, 7am–7pm or 7pm–7am, with overtime as needed to meet production goals. The position requires 2–5 years hands-on maintenance experience, with Nitec or engineering diploma and basic PLC/electrical knowledge.

Qualifications

• Nitec or Diploma in Engineering is required.
• 2 to 5 years hands-on experience in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair.
• Basic PLC knowledge is an advantage.
• Mechanical systems such as cams and linkages; pneumatic components.
• Mechanical drawing and interpreting machine parts drawings with AutoCAD.
• Basic electrical systems including sensors, motors and switches.

Responsibilities

• Execute and/or lead production output, machine enhancements and preventive maintenance.
• Facilitate meetings with Engineers or SMEs to identify root causes of deviations and ensure GMP/Quality compliance.
• Demonstrate strong background in maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of machinery and equipment.
• Apply basic electrical knowledge to check wiring and connections on machine components.

Job Purpose

Provide technical expertise to support manufacturing inleading machine enhancement, managing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of machines, project execution, accountability on production waste and quality of all machine tools operations and the overall technician resource management in production.

This is a permanent full-time position, rotational 12hours day shift 7am to 7pm or 7pm to 7am, shift pattern 3/4/4/3.

Main Responsibilities

• The primary role is to execute and/or lead production output, machine enhancements, manage preventive maintenance effectively.

• This role also facilitates meetings with various Engineers or Subject Matter Experts to determine the root course of deviations to ensure successful manufacturing activities and observing Good Manufacturing Practices and Quality Systems.

• Strong background in mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of machinery and equipment.

• Basic electrical knowledge (can check on the basic machine component wiring and connection)

Job Requirements

• Nitec or Diploma in Engineering field

• 2 to 5years of hands‑on experience in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of machines and equipment

• Basic PLC knowledge is an advantage

• Mechanical systems (e.g., cam systems, linkages and machine mechanisms).

• Pneumatic system and components

• General mechanical troubleshooting and repair

• Mechanical drawing & use AutoCAD (interpret machine parts drawing)

• Basic electrical system and components (e.g. Sensor, motors, switches)

• Working hours: Rotational 12 hours day shift 7am to 7pm or 7pm to 7am, shift pattern 3/4/4/3.

• Willing to work overtime if required. Flexible to change to Day or Night shift if production needs changed
