Job summary

PERSOL in Singapore is seeking a Diploma-qualified engineer to join our Drive Backend Assembly operations team. You will perform process setup, qualification, buyoff, and data-driven improvements to meet yield, cycle time, and quality targets.

You will verify product labels, monitor process performance, map processes, and collaborate with engineers to drive productivity and cost efficiency. The role requires adaptability to 12-hour rotating shifts including nights.

Responsibilities

• Perform process setup, qualification, and buyoff activities for Drive Backend Assembly operations to meet yield, cycle time, and quality targets.
• Conduct product ID label verification and buyoff to ensure specifications and quality standards.
• Monitor production yield and process performance; investigate discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
• Extract, query, and analyze production data to support investigations and process optimization.
• Maintain process stability by monitoring key parameters and ensuring procedures are followed.
• Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to drive productivity and cost efficiency.
• Support continuous improvement projects to enhance manufacturing efficiency and quality.

Job description

Must be comfortable with 12-hour rotating shift:

• Work 3 Days → Off 2 Days

• Work 2 Days → Off 3 Days (3-2-2-3 pattern)

• Shift Timing: (Break time: 45 minutes meal break (unpaid) and a 30 minutes rest break (paid)

• Night Shift: 7:30 PM – 7:45 AM

Note: Enclosed aircon Environment, Smock lab coats (ESD lab coats)

Responsibilities

• Perform process setup, qualification, and buyoff activities for Drive Backend Assembly operations, ensuring production targets for yield, cycle time, and quality are achieved.

• Conduct product ID label verification and buyoff to ensure compliance with product specifications and quality standards.

• Monitor production yield and process performance, investigate discrepancies, perform process mapping, and implement containment and corrective actions when required.

• Extract, query, and analyze production data to support engineering investigations, process optimization, and decision-making.

• Maintain process stability and sustainability by monitoring key operational parameters and ensuring adherence to established procedures.

• Work closely with engineers and cross-functional teams to drive productivity, quality, and operational excellence.

• Support and participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance manufacturing efficiency, quality, and cost effectiveness.

• Perform any other duties and projects assigned by the supervisor or management.

Requirements

• Diploma in Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and analyze production data.

• Able to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage multiple priorities under tight timelines.

• Positive attitude, adaptable mindset, and willingness to learn new technologies and processes.

• Experience in manufacturing, production, process setup, process buyoff, process mapping, or quality-related functions will be advantageous.

• Knowledge of failure analysis, troubleshooting, and root cause investigation is a plus.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
