Job summary

Alexandra Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented administrator to support diet control and patient meal operations. You will handle meal data, generate daily summaries, and assist kitchen staff during meal assembly.

The role requires strong communication, IT skills, and the ability to work independently within a hospital setting. Prior experience in food service or similar environments is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Minimum NITEC or Diploma in Food Science, Food Nutrition or related discipline.
• WSQ Food Safety Course Level 1 certification required.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with phone etiquette.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage diet control administration and patient meal-related matters.
• Handle telephone calls, enquiries and feedback; relay messages to relevant departments.
• Collate and update meal data required by the kitchen for production summaries.
• Generate daily meal summaries and distribute to kitchen sections.
• Generate patients' meal chits from the system for meal assembly.
• Assist kitchen team during meal assembly and plating, ensuring accuracy.
• Manage office supplies and perform stock checks for department.
• Receive, issue and transport items; maintain proper storage per guidelines.
• Organise and deliver goods from stores to departments as required.
• Conduct patient meal satisfaction surveys to drive service improvements.
• Support daily staff meal orders, including collation, collection, and payments.
• Support day-to-day administrative and office duties for efficient operations.
